I'm Quitting

Well, this is unexpected. I have been writing on my blog since 2013, and I’m tossing it away — at least for the time being. Partly because of my ever-growing expenses and partly because of the stuff (read: responsibilities) I have to deal with every day.

“Then why are you posting here?”, you’d probably ask. The reason is straightforward — I can’t keep paying for my hosting when I’m not using it that much. While I enjoy using my self-hosted WordPress blog because of the myriad choices of plugins, it isn’t exactly cheap. But I might keep my domain, though.

Anyway, I might have more stories to tell in the future, but it will take some time. I was looking for a place where I could write, and Blogger was the first thing that popped into my head. Well, I might stay here for a while — it’s simple to use and very similar to other platforms I used before–well, in some aspects, that is. The best part is that I don’t need to pay anything.

I didn’t consider other blogging platforms like WordPress.com, Squarespace, or WIX. They’re the big guns in the blogosphere, which means I have to pay “big” to take full advantage of their offerings. Which, I might add, are not so straightforward to use. I’m at that stage in my life where I want more simple workflows (write, edit, upload, publish).
